Google's Password Manager now allows for restricted password sharing with family members. "This new feature allows you to safely share your passwords with your family group in Google Password Manager. When you share a password, your family members will receive a copy in their Google Password Manager, ready to use," Google explained in a support post.

Google introduced the feature on Safer Internet Day in February 2024, and it is now available in the May 2024 Google Play Services update (v24.20). Password sharing is strictly confined to members of a family group, therefore you must form one and join any members to utilize it..

If you have a family group, you should see a "share" button in Google Password Manager. Although, the capability may not yet be enabled in Chrome's desktop version.

Earlier, Google talked about potential uses, such as "two members of a family coordinating with daycare through a single account, or a child allowing a parent access to their school assignments."
