It's been 10 years since Google ditched the Android Market name for its app store and went with what we all know today as Google Play. The company is celebrating the anniversary by renewing the store's logo, which follows the design philosophy of the Chrome browser logo, which was also recently changed.

This translates into the removal of gradients, brighter colors and a flatter line, and of course the harmonization with the rest of the company's services - products is clear. In its official announcement, Google notes that more than 2.5 billion people from 190+ countries around the world use Google Play at least once a month to discover apps, games and digital content.

In addition to the change in the logo, the company decided to give a small gift to those who make purchases from Google Play, be it applications, games, or in-app transactions. Users can activate the 10x boost once to get 10x Google Play Points which they can then use in the store.
