IBM's AI can predict how Parkinson's disease may progress in patients

Researchers from IBM and the Michael J. Fox Foundation (MJFF) claim that they have developed an AI that can predict how Parkinson's will progress in patients.

This means that doctors can use this artificial intelligence to understand how the disease will progress in patients, which in turn will allow doctors to manage patients' symptoms in the best possible way.

According to IBM, 

Our aim is to use AI to help with patient management and clinical trial design. These goals are important because, despite Parkinson’s prevalence, patients experience a unique variety of motor and non-motor symptoms.” The AI was fed data from 1,400 individuals, which according to IBM is the “largest and most robust volume of longitudinal Parkinson’s patient data to date
