With short-form videos growing increasingly popular, it's not uncommon to discover new music and artists through applications such as TikTok and Instagram. Instagram has already begun spreading out a Spotify integration, allowing you to upload tunes heard in posts and Reels directly to the audio streaming app.

If an Instagram post includes a song and it is linked at the bottom of the screen, touch on the song name to access its audio preview page. Next to the audio scrubber, there is a new button labelled "Add" with the Spotify logo.

When you hit the Add button, the song will be added to your Spotify library's "Liked Songs" list. The first time you connect your Spotify and Instagram accounts, you will need to link them, but after that, it will be a one-tap operation.

The feature is currently rolling out to all users worldwide. Back in August, mobile developer Alessandro Paluzzi discovered another form of connectivity between the two apps under development. That function would allow Instagram users to continuously broadcast what they're listening to on Spotify, with notes appearing on top of your profile image.

TikTok has allowed users to add songs heard in videos to their music streaming library since last year. Its version of the feature is compatible with not only Spotify, but also Apple Music and Amazon Music.
