Meta revealed in the latest quarterly financial results update that users spend more than 20% of their time on Instagram watching Reels, which is why it continues to add new features that admittedly make the popular service look even more like TikTok .

Specifically, as confirmed by the head of the development department, Adam Mosseri, the tests for the appearance of Reels in full-screen format have started in order for the users to enjoy an even more immersive viewing experience. In the new format the top bar for accessing likes, DMs and creating new posts remains visible, as well as the bottom bar for access to search, profile, marketplace and Reels, but Stories are hidden. You can see the latter if you slide your finger down.

It is worth noting that despite the exponential rise of Reels, Instagram is recording much higher profits than the ads that appear among the Stories, at least for the time being. This may change as new promotions for Reels are launched in the coming months.

We will logically see the full-screen Reels around the world in the coming weeks.
