Mozilla has announced that it is launching the Total Cookie Protection feature to Firefox browser users around the world and in fact has it permanently enabled from the beginning, while previously it only operated in private windows and after manual activation by the user.
Total Cookie Protection is, according to Mozilla, an innovative feature that makes Firefox the most secure web browser in the world for user privacy. The reason is for the management of cookies, since instead of gathering all the cookies created by the websites in a common place (from where all the other websites and trackers see them), Firefox creates separate folders for each website.
This way tracking services can not have a complete picture of the user's Internet browsing pattern, nor can they gather information from all of their online behavior to serve (mostly) targeted and more aggressive ads.
Mozilla typically states that it has built a fence around cookies and with Total Cookie Protection leaves Chrome and Edge browsers far behind.
