OpenAI launched dedicated ChatGPT app for iOS

OpenAI has released a free ChatGPT app for iOS, giving iPhone and iPad owners an easy way to try out the AI-based tool.

The new app, which is able to chat in an impressively human way, is available now in the App Store for users in the US and will be coming to even more countries in the coming weeks. As for Android device users, OpenAI promises that they too will soon have their own separate ChatGPT app.

In a post on its website, OpenAI showcases the ChatGPT app for iOS devices, which is available for free without ads, and describes some of the tasks users can perform.

- Tailored advice: Look for guidance on cooking, travel plans or writing thoughtful messages.

- Creative inspiration: generate gift ideas, design presentations or write the perfect poem.

- Professional input: Increase productivity with feedback on ideas, note summaries and technical assistance on topics.

- Learning opportunities.

The ChatGPT app also integrates with Whisper, OpenAI's open source speech recognition system for voice input. ChatGPT Plus subscribers will have early access to new features, faster app response times and exclusive access to GPT-4 - a model more advanced than GPT-3.5, which powers ChatGPT.

Following its launch in November, ChatGPT quickly went viral, with its success giving a boost to AI development from other tech giants such as Google and Meta, although many startups are also entering the field.
