After a long period of speculation, Google officially revealed its latest in-house Android smartphones, the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro.

Google disclosed the specifications for both phones in a blog post. The Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro will both have Google's newest processor, the Tensor G3, and will arrive with Android 14, the most recent version of Google's mobile operating system, out of the box. Google said that both phones will receive OS updates for seven years, including all security and feature updates.

The Pixel 8 will include a 6.2-inch display, 8GB of RAM, and storage options of 128GB and 256GB. In addition, it will include a 50MP primary back camera, a 12MP ultrawide rear camera, and a 10.5MP front camera. A 4,575 mAh battery will also be included.

The Pixel 8 Pro will include a 6.7-inch display, 12GB of RAM, and storage choices ranging from 1TB to 2TB. It will also include a 50MP primary camera on the back, two additional 48MP cameras on the front, and a 10.5MP front camera. The battery will have a capacity of 5,050 mAh, and both phones will feature wireless charging.

The Pixel 8 starts at $699, and preorders for Hazel, Obsidian, and Rose colors are now available on Amazon. The Pixel 8 Pro starts at $999 and is available for presale on Amazon in Obsidian, Bay, and Porcelain color options.

Google also revealed that the Pixel 8 Pro would include a variety of generative AI functions. They will ship with an updated version of the Magic Eraser picture editing program. The Pixel 8 Pro will receive more capabilities in future feature updates, including Video Boost, which will assist improve the appearance of films created on the phone using generative AI processing.
