PlayStation Stars is a new loyalty program for PlayStation gamers

Sony has unveiled PlayStation Stars, a new rewards program for gamers that everyone can join for free when it launches in their country.

After becoming a member of PlayStation Stars, you will be able to earn various goodies by completing a series of actions. Every month there is the Monthly Check-in which simply rewards you for playing any game, while other actions require you to win a tournament, win certain trophies or even be the first in your country to win platinum in a game.

The points you collect in PlayStation Stars are redeemed in a catalog that can include real money for your PSN wallet and select PlayStation Store products. In addition, PS Plus subscribers join PlayStation Stars automatically and earn points for every PS Store purchase.

Along with PlayStation Stars, Sony is also unveiling a new type of reward, digital collectibles. These include digital versions of things that PlayStation gamers enjoy, such as figurines of beloved and famous characters from games or other forms of entertainment, as well as images of legendary devices that take us on a journey through the company's historical innovations.

PlayStation Stars is currently being tested in various countries and will soon be available everywhere.
