Rather than attempting to replace smartphones, Samsung designed these glasses as functional companions meant to extend the Galaxy ecosystem. At the Unpacked showcase, Samsung highlighted two primary launch styles. The Gentle Monster edition features a sleek black silhouette with a straight upper rim and softly rounded lower edges, delivering a modern and sophisticated aesthetic. Meanwhile, the Warby Parker version opts for a warm brown tone with a subtly upswept brow line, offering a versatile and classic look suited for everyday environments. Both designs were crafted to feel like ordinary prescription or sunglasses when worn, hiding complex micro-components within carefully balanced frame temples.

At the architectural core of the device is Google Android XR platform paired with the Gemini artificial intelligence suite, all driven by Qualcomm Snapdragon AR1 Gen 1 processor. Samsung intentionally decided against embedding digital displays or heads-up screens into the lenses. By omitting visual displays, the engineering team successfully prioritized extreme lightness, superior thermal management, and extended battery life, ensuring that the frames do not feel front-heavy or uncomfortably warm during prolonged wear.

For instance, during business meetings or lectures, the camera can capture information displayed on a whiteboard or presentation slide, automatically summarizing the key points and organizing them directly into Samsung Notes. The glasses can also read incoming text messages aloud, translate foreign signs and spoken conversations on the fly with voice-matched audio, and deliver turn-by-turn spoken navigation while walking through unfamiliar cities. Additionally, users can share a live first-person video stream during calls, allowing remote participants to experience their exact point of view hands-free.

Samsung executive leadership emphasized that as artificial intelligence enters an agentic era, bringing contextual assistance closer to the user sightline without requiring constant interaction with a smartphone screen is the logical evolution of consumer electronics. Rather than forcing users to pull out a phone for every quick task, the eyewear allows individuals to stay present in their surroundings while receiving timely digital assistance.

Samsung has also prioritized battery performance and privacy safeguards. The glasses offer up to nine hours of continuous operation on a single battery charge, while the bundled protective carrying case provides up to seven additional full charges, ensuring multiple days of power on the go. To address public privacy concerns regarding body-worn cameras, Samsung integrated an obvious LED recording light that clearly illuminates whenever the camera is actively capturing imagery.
