Sony announces the Xperia 1 III - The world's first phone with a 120Hz 4K OLED screen

Sony has officially unveiled the Xperia 1 III, gaining a significant competitive advantage in the premium segment of mobile. The company decided to provide users with the luxury they’re seeking in their smartphone it remains to be seen if users will respond to this new effort.

The Xperia 1 III is the first smartphone in history that has an admittedly amazing high screen resolution, as it has a 6.5 "OLED 4K HDR screen with a refresh rate of 120Hz in combination with 120Hz. Sony opposed to the established designing trends of the time, offers a screen ratio of 21: 9, with visible margins, where the front camera 8MP and the speaker are placed. Also, the first speaker is accompanied by a second speaker at the bottom of the smartphone for 360 Reality Studio audio.

The company, also, installed three lenses, 12MP sensors + ToF sensor and Zeiss T * on the rear main camera of the smartphone. It is the first time that a Dual PD telephoto lens is used, which is supporting the natural transition from a focal depth of 70mm to 105mm without losing focus. The Xperia 1 III supports also Eye AF technologies in real-time and 20fps burst mode with continuous autofocus enabled, while you will find features such as AI Super-resolution Zoom, Optical SteadyShot, and Flawless Eye for incredible stability for video downloads. The main sensor supports 4K video capture at 120fps and up to 5x slow motion, and the application includes Photography Pro and Cinematography Pro modes, along with a Basic mode for a simpler user interface.

Among other features, in Xperia 1 III you will find the octa-core processor Qualcomm Snapdragon 888, 12GB RAM, 256GB storage (expansion with microSD), WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.1, NFC, GPS, 5G, in-display fingerprint sensor, Android 11 operating system, 4500mAh battery with 30W charger and USB Type-C connector.

The Sony Xperia 1 III will be available in Frosted Black and Frosted Purple shades, but its release date and price haven’t been announced yet.
