The 2024 Steam Awards, which were hosted by Valve, were the last awards ceremony held as 2024 drew to a conclusion. After several days of voting, the community-selected winners received their trophies, but the prizes were mostly expected.
Following two victories at The Game Awards, which were hosted by Geoff Keighley in early December, Black Myth Wukong continued his award-winning streak at the 2024 Steam Awards. It won the ultimate prize ahead of Space Marine II, STALKER 2, Balatro, and Helldivers II.
But there were some worthy victories here. Although Metro Awakening may not be the "next game" in the series that fans were looking for, it's still a fantastic and incredibly realistic stand-alone VR game, therefore it's a good shout to win VR Game of the Year.
Shadow of the Erdtree, which was released earlier this year and became a contender for Game of the Year accolades at The Game accolades (and other showcases), was largely responsible for Elden Ring's Labour of Love award.
When contrasted to the competitors, Red Dead Redemption's Best Soundtrack prize appears odd, but at best, it's a popular vote. It appears that the year wasn't very excellent for game OSTs.
