We've known for a while that 2023 would be a big year for the Street Fighter game series, with Street Fighter 6 coming this summer, but Capcom won't be stopping there.

The company has announced a partnership with Crunchyroll, the world's largest anime-related platform, to develop a new and free-to-play mobile RPG called Street Fighter: Duel, coming soon to Android and iOS devices.

Street Fighter: Duel is the first game in the franchise to take on RPG elements. It features more than 40 well-known characters from the series, and the goal is for gamers to recruit the ones they want in order to build their own team. Each team consists of 3 fighters that you can level up to enhance their abilities and combo moves, as well as dress them up with new skins.

The roster includes classic characters such as Guyle, Ryu, Ken, Chun-Li, Cammy and Blanka, with battles taking place either in real-time or in auto-battle mode. The villain of the piece is Shadaloo, but as the game progresses gamers will mostly be engaged in battles against other players.

No exact release date has been announced, but pre-registration has opened and we'll likely see it in February on mobile devices.
