An NFT of the original source code for the world wide web, created by its inventor Tim Berners-Lee, has sold for $5.4m at Sotheby’s in an online auction. It went on sale on June 23, with an initial offer of $1,000.

According to Sotheby's, the proceeds from the sale will benefit from initiatives supported by Sir Tim and Lady Berners-Lee.
