Twitter has begun testing a new feature called CoTweet. Thanks to it, it will be possible to write a tweet by two different users of the social network and both accounts will be marked in its publication.
CoTweet is being tested on a limited number of users in the US, Canada and Korea, and company spokesman Joseph J. Nunez said:
We continue to experiment with new methods that will enhance user collaboration on Twitter. We're testing CoTweets for a limited time to see how users and businesses can take advantage of this feature to reach new audiences and grow their Twitter presence in general.
The collaborative tweets will display the profile pictures and usernames of the two authors, will be published simultaneously on both accounts, and will be visible in the feed of all their followers. Creating a CoTweet is done by opening a new tweet and then tapping on the function's separate icon. From there, the list of followers will appear and you will be able to send an invitation to participate in writing the tweet to anyone you wish.
It's important to note that CoTweets are not related to the documents you can collaboratively author in the cloud. The two authors should first agree (e.g. by private messages on Twitter) about what to tweet and after the second author accepts the invitation, then the joint publication will take place.
