Audio communication form could be considered as a backward step. However, the unexpected success of the newly created Clubhouse has a wide reach of the broad public, especially in social networking of that type.

It is not by chance that several companies are preparing similar services, such as Twitter. Last year, the team developing Twitter Spaces hosted a Space, a feature where users can create and participate in audio-only chat rooms with two or more followers. From that point on, it depends on the creator whether other users will listen to the conversations and/or participate.

Spaces feature has been available for iOS devices since January. Twitter today announced a beta version, where users of Android app can join and listen to Spaces as well. This announcement may give a competitive advantage over Clubhouse, which is not offered to Android users.
