Twitter will let users report elections and COVID-19 misinformation

Twitter is testing a new feature that will let users report misinformation on the social platform, especially tweets related to COVID-19 and elections.

Twitter users can go to the existing menu at the top right of each tweet to report fake news. While misinformation can generally be highlighted, there are also explicit options about politics and health. The first option will include election-related reports, while the second will include COVID-19.

It should be mentioned that the feature isn’t available yet and is currently in beta. Therefore, it will only be available to the majority of Twitter users in the United States, Australia, and South Korea. The company expects to continue testing the operation for a few months before deciding if it will be released in more countries.
