WhatsApp is exploring a new feature to improve the video note or instant video message experience. WABetaInfo indicates that the instant messaging company is developing a new video notes option for its camera UI. According to the website, the unreleased feature is being developed for both Android and iOS platforms. WhatsApp is introducing video notes mode to some testers in the most recent WhatsApp beta versions for Android and iOS.

The new camera mode is located at the bottom of the screen, beside the "Video" and "Photo" options. To access the camera UI, open a WhatsApp chat and tap the camera icon.

To record a video note on the stable version of WhatsApp, press and hold the camera button. Unless you enable lock mode, the note will be immediately shared in your chat when you lift your finger from the button.

Adding a specific option to the camera UI will simplify the use of the video notes and website notes features. It may increase the visibility of the video notes function because users who were previously unaware of its existence would be able to notice it.

WhatsApp released video notes on Android and iOS about a year ago, with this latest addition. It allows you to capture videos lasting up to 60 seconds in a circular frame. In lock mode, you may choose between the front and rear cameras, pause recording, and delete it if you do not want to share it.

The lock mode also allows you to preview a video note before sending it. WhatsApp beta now has a shortcut button for speedy replies to video notes in chats. Other features being tested include AR effects, Instagram cross-posting, ranking status updates, a bottom calling bar, and a favorites filter.
