WhatsApp is not recognized for the quality of media files shared between users; in fact, the reverse is true. Despite the fact that an update released last summer gave the ability to share films and photographs in HD format, WhatsApp users are still unable to transfer media items at their original quality.

That is about to change, as the service is getting a new update that will allow WhatsApp users to exchange media assets such as images and movies at their original quality.

For the time being, the update is only available to iOS users, so if you have an iPhone, seek for WhatsApp version 23.24.73. WABetaInfo discovered the latest stable build and published the official changelog.

Aside from the ability to share original resolution media as a file, the current version of WhatsApp for iOS has a few additional enhancements. In big groups, for example, WhatsApp users may now initiate audio chats without the phone ringing.

In addition, engineers have included new chat bubbles to let users see missed, continuing, and finished calls. Finally, WhatsApp users on iOS may now swiftly respond to a Status by touching "Reply" and picking one of the six possible avatar replies.

These enhancements, according to WhatsApp's changelog, will be rolled out over the next several weeks, so if you don't notice one or more of these changes, you'll have to wait a little longer.

Remember that in order to transfer original quality material as a file, you must first press "+" in chat, choose Document, and then "Choose Photo or Video" to begin.
