WhatsApp rolls out Edit function to all users

After a testing period that lasted internally for a few months and in beta testers since last March, Meta has officially announced the launch of the Edit feature for WhatsApp.

The feature offers the user the ability to correct any spelling mistakes or generally change the content of the message sent, as is the case with most similar messaging services. In the case of WhatsApp, however, the user will have to be quite quick, as he has only 15 minutes to make any edits.

The process is extremely simple. All you have to do is to hold your finger over the message you want to edit and then select the Edit option. All messages that have been edited will be specially marked "edited" and are of course normally protected by WhatsApp's end-to-end encryption, i.e. like all other messages and calls.

The launch has started for the whole world, but it is being done in stages and there is a possibility that some users may have to wait a few days before they see the Edit feature on their devices.
