Global launch of Gemini 3 Flash on Google Search begins

Google introduced Gemini 3 Flash, its newest model with advanced intelligence capabilities, designed for speed, which is now available globally in Search through AI Mode. Gemini 3 Flash combines the incredible reasoning ability of the Gemini 3 model with the speed users expect from Search. In addition, Google is expanding access to Pro modelsin the U.S., which include powerful AI creation tools that help visualize complex topics and enable deeper understanding of information.

Google brings Gemini 3 Flash to everyone through Search

Starting December 17, Google is rolling out Gemini 3 Flash as the default model for AI Mode worldwide. Gemini 3 Flash’s strong performance in reasoning, tool use, and multimodal capabilities allows AI Mode to handle your most complex questions with greater accuracy—without compromising speed.

With this upgrade, AI Mode becomes an overall more powerful tool. It better understands your needs, allowing you to ask more targeted questions, taking all constraints into account, and delivering thoughtful, well-formatted answers. And as always, you’ll have access to real-time information and helpful links from the web, so you can explore further and take action.

Expansion of Gemini 3 Pro and Nano Banana Pro in Search

Gemini 3 Pro is now available in Search for all users in the United States. By simply selecting “Thinking with 3 Pro”from the model dropdown menu in AI Mode, users can receive in-depth assistance for their most challenging questions, including dynamic visual layouts with interactive tools and simulations that are generated specifically for each user in real time.

Google is also expanding access to Nano Banana Pro (Gemini 3 Pro Image) in Search. More users in the U.S. can now use this cutting-edge image generation and editing model in AI Mode by selecting the “Thinking with 3 Pro”model and then choosing “Create Images Pro.”

For both Pro models that include AI creation tools, Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers will have higher usage limits. Google is excited to enable even more users to access its most advanced models and experiences to date, now available directly within Search.
