At a time when TikTok has become the king of short videos, it made sense that similar initiatives would be followed by other major market players. That's why we especially see Meta and Google investing heavily in the development of Reels and Shorts in their services, hoping that they will be able to exploit the millions of users of their services to make even more profit from ads.

Especially for the topic of ads, YouTube has already started experimenting with their appearance in Shorts. For the time being, they are limited only to the promotion of the application, but it is considered a given that a complete model will be set up very soon, which will open another revenue channel for the creators, with Google also gaining some commission.

The shareholders of Google (Alphabet) have already been informed about these tests and the head of the department emphasizes that although we are in the first days, the messages they receive from advertisers are very encouraging.

It's worth noting that it took almost two years since the launch of YouTube Shorts to start ad integration, a move that makes perfect sense since more than 30 billion views of small videos are already being recorded daily worldwide.
