This week's Bloomberg Power On newsletter by Mark Gurman reveals some intriguing Apple ideas. According to Gurman, Apple intends to "replicate" your doctor using an AI agent. This AI bot will monitor your data and provide personalised health advice.
Apple's purported Project Mulberry includes an updated Health app and an AI agent. According to Tim Cook, the idea is to achieve the company's goal of placing a "medical lab on your wrist" while also reinforcing Apple's most important commitment to society, health care.
According to Gurman, Apple's updated Health app will collect data from your numerous devices (such as iPhone, Apple Watch, and earphones) and give it to the AI agent, which would then generate tailored recommendations based on your health state.
Apple's hired physicians are now training the AI agent, and the company is trying to hire other doctors such as sleep experts, nutritionists, physical therapists, mental health specialists, and cardiologists to contribute video material for the redesigned health app. The video material educates users on their present health state and potential threats.
If all goes as planned, the AI agent and the all-new health app will be published with iOS 19.4, which is expected to be available in the spring or summer of next year.
Apple is opening a facility outside Oakland, California, where physicians may produce video material for the app. It is also looking for a well-known doctor to serve as a presenter for the new program, which some inside Apple have provisionally dubbed Health+.
The updated Health app will place a greater emphasis on food tracking, while the AI agent will also provide nutrition features to users. Furthermore, Apple is experimenting with the idea of using the iPhone's rear camera to monitor customers' exercises and provide feedback to help them improve their technique via the AI agent. The feature could be part of Apple's Fitness+ platform.
