Civilization VII officially announced and coming in 2025!

2K Games announced the release of Sid Meier's Civilization VII, developed by Firaxis Games, at the Summer Games Fest 2024 exhibition. This will be the newest installment in the turn-based historical grand strategy game series.

The announcement was accompanied by a teaser trailer that did not show any gameplay. It did, however, confirm that it will be available on PC via Steam in 2025, alongside Sony's PS4 and PS5, Microsoft's Xbox One, Xbox Series S, and Xbox Series X consoles, and the Nintendo Switch platform. This will be the first time a Civilization game has been launched on the first day for both PC and consoles. Previously, Civilization games were launched first on PC, followed by platform versions.

The announcement during Summer Games Fest was followed by a clip from Sid Meier himself, who announced that the complete game reveal would take place sometime in August.
