Starting October 1, OnlyFans will no longer allow sexually explicit content on its platform, which is known for its adult-oriented content. However, it added that nudity will still be allowed.

In order to ensure the long-term sustainability of the platform, and to continue to host an inclusive community of creators and fans, we must evolve our content guidelines,” OnlyFans said.

OnlyFans, which has a net revenue of $375 million, is struggling to find investors who are willing to support a porn platform. It should be mentioned though that the platform had reached more than 120 million users since April.

The company's decision comes at the request of credit card companies, which aren’t particularly friendly to porn and have expressed concerns about the identity of the creators who publish their content.

OnlyFans didn’t clarify what would happen to sexually explicit content or the accounts of its creators that were posted before October 1st. “We will be sharing more details in the coming days and we will actively support and guide our creators through this change in content guidelines,” it said.
