Google's newest software delves farther into the area of AI-powered productivity tools, making it easier for users to solve complex mathematic problems.

Google has added Photomath to its app roster. The search engine giant purchased the Croatia-based firm in May 2022, but it took until last year to execute the deal after the European Commission approved the acquisition.

Photomath improves Google's existing math-solving services, including Docs and Search, by providing a more user-friendly and fast solution.

Photomath enables users to solve a wide range of mathematical problems, including trigonometry and calculus. Simply take a photo of the equation, and Photomath will deliver step-by-step explanations and solutions. You may also upload files containing your mathematics assignments. It's a game changer for students and parents, who frequently check their children's homework.

The solution steps are arguably the greatest feature of this program. It does not simply give you the solution; it demonstrates how to arrive at it on your own. Furthermore, it operates without an internet connection.

Google also provides a "Photomath Plus" membership, which costs $9.99 per month or $69.99 for the year. This membership includes several useful extras such as textbook answers, animation lessons, and more extensive explanations.

This app isn't technically new; it debuted in 2014 and has had over 100 million downloads since. It has 4.5 ratings on Play Store and 4.7 stars on App Store. Photomath is perhaps well-known for its speed and accuracy.

Perhaps you've used Google Lens's "Homework" filter before. And it's not hard to picture Photomath's AI being integrated into Google products such as Lens. That might bring text recognition and problem-solving capabilities to a whole new level.
