With iOS 17, Apple is introducing a new function that will automatically reject incoming messages and files that may contain sensitive content, such as nudity.

Sensitive photos transmitted through communications, AirDrop, the Contact Posters for the Phone app, FaceTime communications, and third-party apps can be blurred with the user's consent. Adult iPhone users won't be exposed to unwanted imagery thanks to the function. By tapping the "Show" button, you can view any nudity that is otherwise blocked.

Similar to the Communication Safety feature that Apple adopted for kids, sensitive material warnings operate entirely on the device, shielding Apple from any shared content. An addition to the Communication Safety settings for kids that Apple announced last year is Sensitive Content Warnings.

With iOS 17, Communication Safety will also include AirDrop, the system-wide photo picker, FaceTime messages, and third-party apps. Communication Safety is a feature that detects and rejects nude photographs before children can view them.
