X's Grok AI is now a standalone app for iOS devices

Grok, which was formerly exclusive to the X app, is now available as a standalone app in the United States. Last month, X made Grok AI available for free. Previously, the AI was only available to X users with Premium subscriptions. However, with certain restrictions, free users can now access Grok AI and its generative powers. Users can now download and utilise the Grok app independently of the X app.

Grok has quickly grown to become one of the best AI generative chatbots, capable of producing visuals and providing more informal, amusing, and, most importantly, up-to-date answers. Grok has been upgraded several times since its inception in 2023. Its limited availability as part of the X app or website posed a substantial obstacle to widespread adoption. Grok required an X account, which could be accessed via the app or website. This issue is addressed by the launch of the standalone app.

The Grok app is currently available in the United States, Australia, and India. However, only iOS users may download the software from the software Store, and there is no word on an Android version or its global availability. The Grok app is now in beta and has launched for US customers, however it is only available to Apple users. The Grok app's description on the App Store reads: "designed to be maximally truthful, useful, and curious."
